Newark and Sherwood Council’s Business Resilience Programme
Under contract to Newark and Sherwood Council Deyton Bell successfully provided business diagnosis, mentoring, and grants support to 12 businesses in the health and social care sector as part of the Council’s Business Resilience Programme.
Deyton Bell supported the businesses with their recovery post the pandemic and of the 12 businesses enrolled on the programme 7 were also successful in applying to the Council for a grant to help implement their development plans.

Business diagnosis, mentoring and grants support
We helped businesses with a variety of support covering a complete review of their business model and this led to one business choosing to take an entirely different route for their business development involving the purchase of a new machine to enable a new service to be provided, the cost of which was largely met from the award of a grant.
The structured business review process proved invaluable in securing a complete understanding of the business and in identifying where the business needed to focus its attention for its future development. A variety of issues arose including how to secure more sales and how to improve their digital marketing, and each business was assigned a specialist mentor to work with to learn and to agree a planned way forward.
Thanks to the Council’s funding all the mentoring support provided was free of charge.
