Cambridge, UK, 6th April 2009 Deyton Bell, the Cambridge business development specialists today announce that they have been appointed by the Belgian Embassy to organise a new initiative supporting international business development in Belgium. The Embassy will be hosting a series of breakfast seminars across the East of England highlighting opportunities for“Doing Business in Europe”, focussing on how firms from the Region can profit by tackling European markets via Belgium. Deyton Bell will organise all aspects of the seminars.

Reflecting on the announcement, Chris Parkhouse, Managing Director of Deyton Bell said “I am delighted that The Belgian Embassy have appointed Deyton Bell to coordinate this new and exciting initiative for them. Belgium represents a great platform for organisations seeking European expansion, and the seminars offer an excellent opportunity for businesses from across the East of England to learn more about what’s possible“.

The seminars, which are open to all businesses across the Region, will take place on 3 consecutive days, in different locations between 8.30am – 11.30am on the following dates:

  • Tuesday June 16th: Norwich – Dunston Hall
  • Wednesday June 17th: Peterborough – Orton Hall
  • Thursday June 18th: Cambridge – Imperial War Museum, Duxford

Ben De Smit, Economic and Commercial Counsellor for Flanders/Belgium, who will be the key note speaker at the events, commented “It is a great time for UK businesses to explore trade and investment opportunities in Europe. The Continent offers some very attractive markets, which are easy to access and in the current economic climate there is a need for organisations to look for new business opportunities beyond UK shores. Belgium boasts a uniquely central location at the hub of the wealthiest area of Europe and at the crossroads of European trade, and offers businesses a stable market-driven economy.”

Other speakers at the seminars will cover topics such as the tax and legal issues together with other practicalities, and there will also be an opportunity to have one to one meetings with speakers and other Embassy officials, following the seminar.
