Cycle2Work is an important initiative that can help employers and employees in many ways.

Halfords pioneered the Cycle2Work Scheme in response to the Department of Transport’s plan to promote healthier journeys to work and to reduce environmental pollution.

The scheme:

  • can improve your employees’ health and fitness
  • can potentially be a tax efficient way of buying a bike to Cycle2Work
  • is environmentally and socially responsible
  • can help reduce congestion on roads and in car parks
  • is easy to set up and operate
  • offers a huge selection of bikes and equipment

Cycling has never been more popular in the UK than now following the fantastic success of our Olympic cyclists in Beijing – the UK has embraced cycling as a national pastime.

Halfords appointed Deyton Bell to help them promote the initiative and offer Cycle2Work to a wide range of organisations, notably including SME’s. While Halfords provide the scheme, we provide a professionally managed service to support the promotion and establishment of schemes.

Halfords is the UK’s leading retailer of cycles and cycle safety equipment. The choice available to Cycle2Work clients is now greater than ever before with customers being able to select their bikes from all Halfords, Bikehut and Cycle Republic Stores, as well as Pearson, Condor and On Your Bike.

Halfords are also proud to announce that the new Boardman 2009 range of bikes is now available. They are a highly regarded brand, of an excellent standard, which have won many awards and are available in Halfords stores for all Cycle2Work applicants.

Through Cycle2Work the employer hires the employee a bicycle and commuting/safety equipment such as lights, helmets, locks and panniers. To fund this, the employee agrees to a salary sacrifice and therefore potentially benefits from the Income Tax and National Insurance savings Cycle2Work offers.

Our team is ready and willing to help and will be happy to provide further details on the initiative or help set up a scheme. Please contact Julie Bloom directly on 01223 873033 or via and also visit www.cycle2work.info for further information.
